Beginning to Advanced Violin Instruction

With students, Danielle Ryce is enthusiastic about encouraging a strong foundation in theory and technique to have the ability to play many genres. Danielle is a recent graduate of Loyola University, where she majored in Music Industry and Music Performance, concentration violin performance. At Loyola, she participated in both the Loyola Symphony and Chamber Orchestras, conducted by Dr. Montes. By spring of her senior year, Danielle held the position of Concertmaster in Chamber Orchestra and Assistant Concertmaster in Symphony Orchestra. She has studied under Ann Taylor Casadaban, and currently studies under Rachel Jordan, both former members of the LPO. In addition to classical ensembles, Danielle co-leads a band called Nyce!, which plays songs similar to a singer-songwriter style, but with New Orleans flair. Living in New Orleans has given Danielle great exposure to jazz music, and now participates in a group called Kooky Steamers that plays gypsy jazz, in which she sings and plays violin.

Beginning to Advanced Bass Instruction – jazz, classical, blues, rock, and funk

As a working bassist (both upright and electric) in New Orleans, Sam Dingle has played venues including Preservation Hall with Leroy Jones, The Jazz Playhouse, and Houston’s with The Garden District Trio. A graduate of Loyola University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Studies, Sam has been also been privileged to study privately with working musicians including Nilson Matta, Sean Pentland, Marcus Mclaurine, Avery Sharp and Justin Meyer. In addition to his work as a musician and private instructor, Sam is also the Director of Residential Life at the Litchfield Jazz Camp. Sam’s teaching combines a strong understanding of the fundamentals of theory and technique (including the Alexander Technique), with each student’s individual set of goals, whether it be progressing through school auditions, a hobby, or overcoming a roadblock. Sam believes strongly in understanding each student as an individual, working with them to define achievable short and long-term objectives, and moving forward from there.
